The listed price covers the car and the shipping from Japan. Duty, VAT and customs clearance are charged and paid in Cyprus, and are quoted separately.
No. Cyprus does not require an inspection in Japan. The car is tested for roadworthiness after it arrives in Cyprus, before it can be registered.
Cars are shipped by RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessel from Japan to Limassol or Larnaca. K-Line runs the route with a sailing every month.
Every listing carries photographs, the Carbarn inspection comments, the full inspection report, and the auction grade, so the condition can be verified before you commit.
Customs duty is 10% of the CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value, and VAT is 19% of the CIF value plus duty. A fixed fee of €210 also applies.
Shipping from Japan to Limassol or Larnaca takes 30-45 days, depending on the sailing and the port schedule.
No. Excise duty on motor vehicles was abolished on 22 March 2019, so what you pay is customs duty, VAT and the fixed fee.
Cyprus allows cars and vans up to five years old, counted from the date the car was first registered. Carbarn checks age against the manufacture date, which is the stricter of the two dates.

Cars for Cyprus arrive at Limassol or Larnaca. The arrival port is confirmed on your booking, and customs clearance is handled at that port.
